October 2017 – The Indian Ambassador to Germany, Mrs Mukta Dutta Tomar recently visited the Schmalz works at Glatten, Germany. Schmalz is the market leader in vacuum automation and ergonomic handling solutions. During the visit the managing directors and the important guests exchanged ideas about the possibility of a closer cooperation of Germany and India in different economic sectors. Particular focus was on the activities of the Schmalz subsidiary in India. Digital technologies, educational projects and the breakdown of administrative barriers offered a lot of topics for conversation.

During the tour around the company the managing directors introduced the ambassador and Mr Fuchtel to the latest products and trends in vacuum technology. Mukta Dutta Tomar showed great interest in the so-called stacks, system components for energy storage which Schmalz has developed since 2014.

Schmalz India Pvt Ltd is active in India since 1999. The company distributes the vacuum technology for automation and handling throughout India and employs about 120 employees in its headquarters in Pune and its sales offices in Delhi and Chennai. This spring, Minister President of Baden-Württemberg Winfried Kretschmann has inaugurated the new production halls of Schmalz India. In the meantime, the administration building has been completely redesigned and the inauguration will be beginning of November.
