Nidec Shimpo’s S-CART Automatic Transport Robot Series received the “2017 Nikkei Superior Products and Services Awards for Excellence”.

This product was received with popularity by many as a guideless automatic transport cart which uses laser sensors. A recent addition to this lineup is the S-CART 1000 with a payload capacity of 1,000 kg (1 tonne) and a new feature allowing it to follow the person or object preceding it. We have also added additional options to meet the varying needs of many users.

During the 2017 International Robot Exhibition (iREX), Nidec Shimpo exhibited the new concept model of S-CART designed for mounted robots. It features an omnidirectional wheel mechanism which allows it to freely move 360 degrees – front, back, left and right. The live demonstration drew the attention of many exhibition goers.

The S-CART automatic transport robot will continue to offer products that emphasise safety and ease-of-use in order to further expand the unmanned transport market with its concept of “easy and free-moving transport.”
