The new vb Docklock robot cell, which will be on display at EMO Hannover 2017, automatically switches workpieces or tool-holders in the machine tool.
The new vb robot cell supports processes involved in automated manufacturing. As the company explains, the modular, five-stage design means that the cell can be expanded as necessary and offers all-in-one solutions for automating handling weights between 1 kg and 500 kg and pallet sizes of up to 800x800 mm. The cell is said to be suitable for both single-item and series production since the fixtures, workpieces and tool-holders can be substituted into the machinery automatically. Combining it with the workpiece palletizing system from the PTS series enables 26 hours of automated production, the Swiss exhibitors claim. A further merit of the palletizing systems is seen in their modular design, which offers very high flexibility. The robot cells can be reportedly connected to any machine tool.
