The Post-EXPO is a leading international exhibition and conference for the postal and parcel service industry. This year, the event was held in Hamburg from 9 to 11 October. With its IE4 motors, LogiDrive systems and a PROFIsafe interface module, NORD presented safe and efficient drive solutions for intralogistics and conveyor technology.

The "life cycle costs" of drive solutions include all of the costs which are incurred, from purchase and commissioning, use and maintenance, up to disposal. NORD Drivesystems offers a wide range of innovative drive solutions to optimise the TCO (Total Cost of Ownership). For example, with NORD IE4 synchronous motors significant energy savings can be achieved to reduce the TCO. The motors provide high efficiencies and meet the most stringent efficiency regulations – thanks to PMSM technology (Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor technology) even in the partial load range and at low speeds.

Reduction of variants with LogiDrive

All of the necessary basic drive versions or industry-specific configurations can be implemented from the extensive NORD modular system. This reduces the number of variants and optimises spare parts management. With its LogiDrive systems, NORD provides efficient and maintenance-friendly plug&play technology. These consist of an IE4 synchronous motor with rated powers of up to 5.5 kW, a 2-stage helical bevel gear unit and a frequency inverter which is installed close to the motor.

LogiDrive drive units from NORD are equipped with STO and SS1 safety functions according to DIN EN 61800-5-2 and DIN EN 60204-1 and have a high overload capacity. As the system for conveyor technology has a modular structure, all drive technology components can be serviced individually, which reduces service and maintenance costs in intralogistics. LogiDrive drive technology is suitable for horizontal conveyors, inclined conveyors and vertical conveyors.

Safety first

A further important module for intralogistic and conveyor systems is functional safety. NORD provides and ideal solution for this with the PROFIsafe interface module SK TU4-PNS.

NORD Drivesystems develops, produces and sells drive technologies with around 3.600 employees, and is one of the international leaders in the industry. In addition to standard drives, NORD supplies application-specific concepts and solutions, even for special applications, for example with energy-saving drives or explosion-protected systems. NORD produces a wide variety of drive units for torques from 10 to 200,000 Nm, electric motors with powers from 0.12 kW to 1,000 kW as well as the necessary power electronics in the form of frequency inverters and servo controllers. Inverter solutions are available for classical installations in the switch cabinet and for decentralised and fully integrated drive units.
