Milan, January 2018 – Over 450 enterprises have already registered to exhibit at 31.BI-MU, the major international trade show in Italy for the machine tool sector. On stage at fieramilano Rho from Tuesday 9 to Saturday 13 October 2018,it will highlight the influences between the industry of manufacturing systems and the ICT world.

The total exhibition area booked to date is three times as large as that reserved in December 2015 for the last edition of the biennial trade show (2016).Moreover, the average exhibition area of stands is more than 10% larger than the one reserved by the companies on the occasion of the previous edition of this trade show.

On the total number of exhibitors, 175 companies are from abroad, representing 16 countries, as a testimony to the international propensity, which has always characterised this event. BI-MU will be able to attract the attention of Italian and foreign operators, also thanks to an updated technological range of products and to numerous novelties.

Not only machine tools, metal forming and cutting machines, automation, robotics, auxiliary technologies, but also digital manufacturing and enabling technologies: this is the core of the new BI-MU that will thus present “The Digital Era of Machine Tools”.

“The new interpretation of this trade show, which however remains loyal to its nature of major exhibition for the whole manufacturing industry, has enjoyed the full appreciation of the enterprises,” stated Alfredo Mariotti, General Manager of UCIMU-SISTEMI PER PRODURRE, the Italian machine tool, robots, automation systems and ancillary products (NC, tools, components, accessories) manufacturers' association.

“To date – continued Mariotti – 10% of the collected applications were sent by new companies, belonging both to the sectors traditionally exhibiting at the show and to new sectors, such as that of IOT (FabbricaFutura) and of consulting (Box Consulting). In this case, a very significant participation, among others, is that of PWC PricewaterhouseCoopers, which will be among the key players of this new exhibition area”.

As a mirror of the changes and transformations characterising the manufacturing industry, 31.BI-MU will show the best solutions related to the "factory of the future". It will be an unmissable event for the users in Italy that, for the whole year 2018, will be able to take advantage of the Super-Depreciation and Hyper-Depreciation incentives concerning investments in manufacturing technologies.

“Actually, also thanks to the substantial package of incentives implemented by the Government –added Mariotti – according to the forecasts processed by the Studies Dept of UCIMU, in 2018, the Italian machine tool consumption should grow again, reaching a new record value of 4.7 billion euro, all to the benefit of those who will exhibit at BI-MU”.
